Boob Scrutiny. The Early Days.

After all these years, you would think I'd mastered the art of patience.
Ah! Ha! Ha! Hilarious!
I have only been pregnant 2 seconds and I want my baby NOW!
Thus far I have avoided feelings of guilt, trepidation or anxiety....I'm sure there's plenty of time for that later. I am feeling great. I gag constantly. I wake several times a night. I have given up spaghetti (did someone say reflux?) but overall these things are easy to cope with.
I stare at my body each morning in the mirror, regretting that tattoo but mostly searching for a sign of change. A bump. A lump. A stretch. A darkening of area. Of course there's nothing. There won't be any changes for weeks.
Further bloodwork next week, and an U/S on the 30th. Until then I shall embrace my blissful naivety & grin broadly at every pregnant woman I see. It's a nice change from scowling at them. For both parties.

still very happy for you and p. don't worry before long you'll be as big as a small country and unable to see your ankles....

Mony, I've been following your blog for a while -- we've been on similar paths. I found out I was pregnant a couple of days after you did. I just read your post and shouted "yes! Yes! Me too!" out loud.

I'll be keeping tabs and wishing you the best every step of the way.

Thanks Binky! Where's your Blog at?
Does anyone know how Manuela is?

I know what you mean! My biggest problem though is that my hubby keeps teasing me about how I'm already showing. Thanks Babe I needed that reminder that I never lost the baby weight from our daughter!
If you don't have a pudgy tummy like mine you may very well start noticing a teensy bit of a bump or at least a firmness in your belly in a few weeks. Until then, feel free to stick your belly out and make it look like a baby belly - because it is whether it's showing or not!

Hi Mony, I so know how you feel. SOmetimes I'd like to just skip the whole pregnancy so I can feel a bit safer. But maybe you never feel safe? Glad to hear it's all going fine.

You can reach manuela at

I so wanted to skip this whole pregnancy. I am still impatient, finding it hard to believe anyone expects me to make it another whole 10 weeks. But savour it too, because as much as I was anxious, I love being pregnant.

Oh Mony, I am so very happy for you. Can't wait to hear about the ultrasound!

Good luck with your ultrasound! I so hope that continues to go smoothly.

Early symptoms are strictly optional, believe me.
Do embrace the naivety as long as it lasts, it's easier than constant worrying.

Pregnant wow! I'd do it again tomorrow if I could... Keep up the avoidence :-)

I can't imagine you actually scowling at pregnant people, but I laughed when I read it. You're pregnant. Just believe and believe and believe.

Oh, I remember when I was pregnant with my son I couldn't wait to "show" I'm so glad you get to experience it all! If you seriously want to know what to expect I will tell you all the dirty details:)

Ha!!! I can't wait to show you this email again this time next year....when your wee bairn is but 4mths old & you have had a total of 5 minutes sleep since it was born!!!

Enjoy being everything in sight & bask as everyone tells you how fat & gorgeous you look!!!

Wait for that first sound of a heartbeat...the sight of a little backbone on the ultrasound screen & that first little butterfly kick in your tummy....You will wish you could stay pregnant forever!!!

And come November-December, when you look at the tears rolling down Peter's cheeks as he holds his child for the first time and tells you that you are the most amazing woman in the world - know that you truly are - my darling friend...
