Out of Africa.

Staring into Cooper's wardrobe makes me giddy. The array of cuteness is astounding. Choosing his next outfit is a simple thrill I never tire of. Today I put a cardigan & hat on him. I very nearly wet my pants. My raucous laughter bought Peter from the yard & even he smirked.
However, the baby fashion industry decided that most boy outfits should include a motif...of a wild animal.
Dangerous animals.
Like a Hippo, Bear or Lion.
Cooper has bibs, cot sheets, socks, onesie's & a pram liner that feature frolicking man eaters. Fun!
But most frequently the motif is a Giraffe. Wha?
Yes, a Giraffe. I mean, what say's "I'm a BOY!" more eloquently than a long necked, black tongued Giraffe?

And my personal favourite?

Why it's a Giraffe giving a big old Lion a trolley ride. Hi y'all!
Just like in the Savannah.

You might think I'm nuts (just like lots of people where I live in NZ) but my boy really looks very good in pink and flower prints he borrows of his sister... Especially now he is a bit bigger and looks like a real boyish surfer boy, with his suntan and golden hair. Pink, that's just it. After all that boy blue.
But...today we picked up my car from the garage and Charlie was wearing his blue Bob the Builder shirt. He looked as if he was the new workshop assistant. So sweet! Anyway, I know what you are talking about, I love kiddy clothes. Didn't buy anything else for Christmas. For nobody.

That makes me laugh because my husband and I used to make fun of these pajamas that our son had that had embroidery of a giraffe driving a dump truck full of stars. Wha? Who comes up with this stuff?
