....Like A Virgin
"You're A Virgin" teased one of my work colleagues to the other. (They are sooo mature)
"How am I?" he responded. "I've got a daughter AND another baby on the way".
I weighed into the bickering by pointing out that technically a Virgin, be male or female could actually be a parent....with the help of ART. Isn't that the strangest thing? I wonder if it's happened? Has someone had a child before they had sex?
I am such a freak. I forgot my 19 week scan appointment.
Oh the disappointment.
The D'oh-ing.
I was all geared up for my scan TODAY....and it was actually yesterday. Bawl. It is unlike me to mess appointments up. Now I have another week to wait before I see the Hef-alicious one.
Who knew pregnancy brain was an actual ailment?

.... Phooey on the scan mix up. But Hef will be a week bigger next week! :)
P and I discussed the virgin parent via ART idea just a couple days ago! Funny how your world view changes...

"Placenta brain" is a documented phenomenon. Everything is being diverted to the baby and the support structures, so there's less oxygen and whatnot for your brain to work with!
I have forgotten appts even without having the excuse of growing a human being in my belly.

ah, placenta brain strikes again! I think it gets worse the further along you get!
i do things like this ALL THE TIME. it's kind of scary that i'm still allowed to operate a car. hope you have a great scan (assuming you get there)!
Wow... I wonder how bad the pregnancy brain actually gets...
Only a week wait, that's not so bad for a last minute new appointment. But, very annoying to miss it though.
I usually have a great memory- but this pregnancy brain is making me forget everything but my name.
It sucks that yuo forgot your appointment- that's the one thing we dont want to forget because we get to see our little ones, but they say everything happens for a readon- dont beat yourself up over it! Start writing things down on your calendar- that's what I do.. and schedule it into your cell-phone.
Since the beginning of the second tri, I've been dumb as a brick. I don't even try to actually remember things any more. Sorry you missed your appointment!
That's so funny! hubby and I were having this same conversation around our retrieval--that you could get pregnant without ever having had s*x. ART is funny, huh?

I'm always double checking my calendar and still missing some appts and I'm not even PG. Can't wait to hear about next week's scan.
